About
Welcome to the Tumunu!
The Tumunu is a tradition of the Cook Islands. It is a meeting place hidden away in the jungle, and serves as a forum for expressing ideas, solving problems of the island, and washing down the discussion with bush beer. You can find out more about the origins of the Tumunu here.
This is yet another blog that discusses technology, business, and general fun topics. Adrian (the author) is not expecting this to really be very differentiated from all of the other blogs out there, but more to serve as a place for him to organize his thoughts, and hopefully for others to weigh in on those thoughts.
Adrian is a maven. He becomes intensely interested in things, then moves on and learns about new things. One can interpret these things as hobbies, yet many don’t last as long as traditional hobbies. Mountain biking, cell phones, digital media, model airplanes, haute cuisine, the list goes on. He’s happiest when people ask him for restaurant reviews, which TV to buy, or which hotel to stay at.
He is currently a consultant at Monitor Group, a strategy consulting firm based in Cambridge, MA. This allows him to intently focus on one major client problem for a few months, then move on to another. He’s worked with clients in a number of industries; digital media, technology, and pharmaceuticals to name a few. Consulting with Monitor serves as a crash course in learning how companies work, which will hopefully rub off on this blog.
Adrian likes seafood, roadsters, and The Wire.
